ObjectiveTodescribetheclinicopathologicandradiologicfeaturesofsolitaryfibroustumorsoftheheadandneck.

DesignRetrospectiveanalysis.

SettingTertiaryreferralcenterthatperformsheadandnecksurgicaloncology.

PatientsTwelvepatientswithsolitaryfibroustumorsoftheheadandneckidentifiedfromthepathologyandsofttissuetumordatabasesatMemorialSloan-KetteringCancerCenter,NewYork,NY,fromto2.Allcaseswerereviewedby3experiencedpathologists,1ofwhomisanexperiencedsofttissuetumorpathologist.Thediagnosiswasconfirmedbymicroscopicfeaturesonhematoxylin-eosinstainingandbypositivestainingforCD34andBcl2onimmunohistochemicalanalysis.Tumorswerescoredformitoticactivity,cellularity,nuclearpleomorphism,necrosis,andthepresenceofamalignant
